Andreas Ammer (born 1960. in Munich) is a German author, journalist and radio play maker.
He has become known by his radio drama and theater productions. He has worked with FM Einheit of the Einstürzende Neubauten and Ulrike Haage of the Rainbirds.
He studied German literature, philosophy and history of science and graduated with a doctorate. Initially he worked as a lecturer at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich. Meanwhile, he is freelance writer and television journalist. Since 2003 he is the creative head of the ARD broadcast Literature "Freshly printed".
Andreas Ammer staged in 1993 for the Bayerischer Rundfunk the radio play Radio Inferno, broadcasted after Dante's Divine Comedy.
He belongs to a whole series of the radio play writers and directors who incorporate the elements of pop and live performances - fundamentally changed (Apocalypse live, Frost, Marx Engels Werke). As a collaboration with FM Einheit, Ammer produced the opera Alzheimer 2000 / Toter Traktat, about Ulrike Meinhof and the RAF. Spaceman'85 was produced with Console (Martin Gretschmann) as the documentary / musical radio play in which a space flight audio from the year 1985 has been used. The German astronaut Reinhard Furrer in these recordings portrays his personal thoughts before and during his stay in space. For the Bavarian State Opera he realized in the years 2003-2006, together with the cellist Sebastian Hess productions such as "Our Oscar (over Oscar Maria Graf), "Home" (a voice for opera Karl Valentin and a football stadium) and "Dido and Aeneas " (after Purcell).
For Apocalypse Live has Ammer 1995 with the renowned radio drama prize of war blind impeccable and he received it again for Crashing Airplanes. He is the only author of this prize twice received.
Other awards including "Radio Play of the Year 1990", "Frankfurt Radio Drama Prize 1992", "Literavision 1993", "Morishige International Award" (Japan 1994), "Prix Futura" (1995), "Prix Italia 1995", 1 ARD "Online-Award" (2003). ARD "Online Award" (2003).
