Raxola was a Belgian punk band spawned by the legendary Bastard, which also brought forth The Damned (through Brian James) and Elton Motello (through singer Alan Ward). Their debut album (1978) is now a collector’s item. Formed along with better known bands, The Kids and Hubble Bubble in the fertile Belgian punk underground of the mid 70s, Raxola are usually the least name-checked of the three, but yet quite possibly the most brutal, and with their violently brilliant formula straddling their songs between sepulchral scrapings and melodic raw pop gargled with broken glass, they are long overdue on their time in the spotlight. Much appreciated for their rough pop punk songs and their somewhat socially and politically committed lyrics, Raxola has returned to the limelight, urged on by their fans. The only remaining original member, Yke N. Raxola (Yves Kengen) pushed ahead creating new material with Hadrien Frank, Dave Porzio and with a little help from Brian James, Fabrizio Manzini and other friends.
Late 2016, Raxola released the single "Come Back Shoes" b/w "Stakhanovist Punk". It announced a new album, "Guts Out".
