The Fakes has been played on NTS shows including Brain Dead Radio, with Look-Out first played on 20 October 2017.

1) The Australian The Fakes has released one EP and one Album in 2005 and 2009. The band is currently in studio for the release of their forthcoming second full length album (TBA) in 2010. The Fakes is best described as shoegaze with influences from Mazzy Star, Ride… More info: http://www.myspace.com/thefakes1

2) Prague's Dj's crew The Fakes has been on local club scene since autumn 2005. The Fakes are formed by Simon Safranek (writer, filmmaker) and Pavel Kucera (TV presenter, music journalist). Since their foundation The Fakes have formed a strong position on the Czech club scene, they had shows as afterparty DJs with most of the czech major club bands, e.g Moimir Papalescu & The Nihilists, The Prostitutes, Sunshine, Bruno Ferrari, The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa or Khoiba. They have also supported international names the Gossip (USA), Ladytron (UK), Digitalism (D), The Whip (UK), Robots In Disguise (UK), IAMX (UK), Warren Suicide (D). The Fakes played at big CZ festivals Planet Festival, Creamfields Central Europe, Electronic Beats. In Berlin they played at Berlin Insane V and in the Villa club. In Prague, they host a resident night CLASH! in Chapeau Rogue club focused on nu rave, electro clash, indie electro as well as disco punk. http://www.myspace.com/fakesclash

3) The Fakes used to be Kathleen Hanna's project with Rachel Cams of The Need. Loud, Intense, tracks about sexual abuse (a couple by Billie Rain, who now runs http://www.pscap.org/). Last project she worked on before she started Julie Ruin. Most of the tracks off of Real Fiction are spoken word accompanied by music.

4) The Fakes were a post punk/new wave from Stirling, Scotland, which comprised of Johnny McGuire (Vocals), Jamesy McDonald (Bass), Brian Kemp (Drums), and Mairi Ross (Guitar). They released the single, "Production" in 1979, on the Deep Cuts Record Label. The band disbanded in November 1979 after Brian Kemp was killed in a motorcycle accident.
