The Gris Gris has been played on NTS shows including Immediate Hits w/ Dan Russell, with Ecks Em Eye first played on 5 November 2017.

The Gris Gris was an American four-piece psychedelic rock band formed in 2003 in Oakland, CA. Members comprised Greg Ashley (formerly of The Mirrors, the Strate Coats, and Sir Lord Von Raven), Joe Haener (formerly of Battleship, The Rocknroll Adventure Kids, Blanche Devereaux; played in The Dodos' 2008 touring lineup), Oscar Michel (formerly of the Rocknroll Adventure Kids and subsequently Lil' Queenie), Lars Kullberg (formerly of Boot Party). The band split in 2009.

The Gris Gris first signed with Birdman Records in 2003 . The Gris Gris' debut self-titled album was released in 2004. The debut album was recorded in a studio/art space in downtown Oakland. During their career, The Gris Gris played on bills with: Trail Of The Dead, Roky Erickson, The Ponys, The Apes, and The Modey Lemon.

Following their debut, they released two further albums before the band split in 2009.
