There are at least eight artists with the name Purr:
1) Purr is an independent Japanese rock band that played fantastic music, but seems to have disappeared in December of 2001 after playing a show with other members of the LEE V CLEEF label.
2) Purr is an independent French rock band, but have ceased activity in 2001. They released 2 albums. 'Whales lead to the deep sea' in 1997 and 'Open Transport' in 2000, both on Prohibited records, a very active french underground label in the 90's.

3) Purr was a West Yorkshire inependent rock band made up of Tom Fazzini and Mark Sedgewick (also of A Small Good Thing).
4) Purr is an independent record label (and club night) based in Bath, UK. The label has released a number of 7" singles as well as albums and a live DVD. More information can be found at the Purr site: Purr Records/Purr Live.
5) Purr were a four piece indie / punk band from Sydney, Australia. Active in the mid nineties, Purr released one EP, 'Umbilical', on Swivel Disc Records (SD006), and appeared on the compilations 'Rock'n'Roll Is Here To Stay' and 'Halflife'. Purr supported touring international acts such as Sleater Kinney and Bikini Kill. Two members of Purr, Kylie and Whilton, went on to form the shortlived band 'When Robots Rule'.

8) A project from born and raised New Yorkers, Eliza Callahan and Jack Staffen, who have previously released and performed music simply under their own names Jack + Eliza (https://www.last.fm/music/Jack+%252B+Eliza). The songwriting duo formed Purr in 2017 while seniors in college.
