Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal (born March 6, 1972), nicknamed Shaq, is an American retired basketball player, former rapper and current analyst on the television program Inside the NBA. Standing 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall and weighing 325 pounds (147 kg), he was one of the heaviest players ever to play in the NBA. Throughout his 19-year career, O'Neal used his size and strength to overpower opponents for points and rebounds. He is famous for his physical stature. He has several nicknames, most of which he conferred upon himself, such as The Diesel, The Big Aristotle, The Big Daddy, The Big Baryshnikov, M.D.E (Most Dominant Ever), "L.C.L." (Last Center Left), Superman, and most recently after earning his MBA, Doctor Shaq.

Shaquille O'Neal is also a rapper. He released his first studio album, Shaq Diesel in 1993. Despite not releasing an album since 1998's Respect, he appeared as a guest artist on Aaron Carter's song That's How I Beat Shaq in 2001.

In 2014 Shaquille O’Neal began DJing under the moniker “DJ Diesel”. His primary genre under this act is electronic music, predominantly dubstep and bass music. O'Neal began messing around with the turntables as a teenager, and he dabbled in DJing throughout his NBA career. He would play sets alone or for his friends, but he ventured out to nightclubs after he retired. He got his first taste of the festival world at TomorrowWorld in 2015. Since then he has released music on Disciple, Dim Mak, Subsidia, and Gud Vibrations.

O'Neal was ranked #9 on SLAM Magazine's Top 75 NBA Players of all time in 2003.
