Hawaii
18:00 - 19:00

Live on NTS this Wednesday: (mostly) CD era finds 💿 in the latest installment of #HomeGrown, our monthly exploration into obscure, underground, and lesser known music from Hawaii, bound not by genre or generation but by a connection to the islands.

The Ambient Visitor

The Ambient Visitor

The Ambient Visitor has been played on NTS in shows including youarelistening.to, featured first on 20 January 2018. Songs played include Division & Conjunction Part One and Wax And Wane.

An deep ambient side project of Bing Satellites.

Each album is made up of one longform ambient piece split into sections.

The music is generative: each note is played in a long loop, the length of each loop if different for each note. So although the music may seem to vary only slightly, it never quite repeats itself.

The tracks are all named after trans-Neptunian objects, minor planets in the Solar System that orbit the Sun at a greater distance on average than Neptune. Many of these are named after characters from Greek or Pacific island mythology.
