Bill Direen has been played on NTS in shows including NTS Guide to…, featured first on 7 February 2018. Songs played include Sad But True, The Drinker and Skulls.

In the 80s & 90s NEW ZEALAND The Bilders released on indie vinyl, travelled in USA and Europe (1989-97): residency in Berlin. Recent music on various labels with musicians from other Europe groups and from The Clean and from other networks in Australia, France, Germany and NZ. Bilders toured in NZ 2007, in 2008, 2010 & 2011. Projects in Europe and NZ brought in three CD albums (2010), including a Berlin and French project. Small time lo-fi more and more spoken word over improvised or simple grooves or evolving riff-type stuff. Often called lofi pioneers, but really garage-pop alternative emotional alienation garde you name it.

2012: UNWUCHT of Augsburg re-releases four rare Bilders 12" eps from the early 80s. (Six Impossible Things, Die Bilder Schwimmen in der See, Solomans Ball, High Thirties Piano).

2011: Siltbreeze (U.S.) release 7" of early Bilders prototype (and Victor Dimisich prototype VACUUM).
