Desmond Child & Rouge was formed in 1973 in Miami, FL . Rouge consisted of singers Maria Vidal, Diana Grasselli, and Myriam Vaille. In 1978, Desmond Child & Rouge signed to Capitol Records. In 1979, they released 2 albums for Capitol: their self-titled debut (features "Our Love Is Insane", their only Billboard Hot 100 entry, which peaked at #51); and "Runners In The Night".
Desmond went on to become a successful producer & songwriter. Maria Vidal released the theme song to the film "Body Rock" in 1984, which peaked on Billboard's Hot 100 at #48. Maria recorded her self titled solo album in 1987, which featured a song penned by Desmond, "Do Me Right". Maria also contributed background vocals for The Smithereens' "A Girl Like You" and Stevie Nicks' "I Can't Wait". Diana Grasselli contributed background vocals for Jennifer Rush ("Heart Over Mind"), Alice Cooper ("Trash"), KISS' Paul Stanley (his 1978 solo album), among others.
