Virus Syndicate

Virus Syndicate

Virus Syndicate has been played on NTS in shows including You'll Soon Know w/ Tim Parker, featured first on 27 August 2012. Songs played include EOW, Your Life (Funkystepz Remix) and Can't Stop My Grime (Starkey Remix).

Virus Syndicate are a grime DJ/producer duo consisting of MC JSD (David Hindley) and MC Nika D (Nikhil Nagarkar) from Manchester, UK. They are known for their fusion of dubstep with grime, and have been lauded by The Daily Telegraph as "some of the tautest British MC-ing since the first Dizzee Rascal album." The group was originally a quartet with DJ MRK1 aka MarkOne (Mark Foster) and MC Goldfinger (Marvin McKenzie) somewhere between 2014 and 2016.

Founded in 2005, the project started out at a youth center on the south side of their hometown Manchester. There, at the Fielden Campus specializing in classes for adults, dropouts and university students taking extra courses, the four used the facilities to write and produce music and lyrics. It wasn’t long before they met and began working collaboratively rather than separately. The group supplied the vocal accompaniment on Mark One's early solo recordings.

Since their 2017 EP "The Mancunian Way" on Disciple Records, the group have released multiple projects on the label together with big names in the bass music world such as Virtual Riot, Dodge & Fuski, Barely Alive, Infekt and more.
