IKESTRA was a group of seven musicians from Leeds, originally formed in 2010 by Joe Harris after attending Leeds College of Music. The band name relates to the oneness symbolised in the I and is a tribute to Sun Ra's legendary Arkestra.
IKESTRA have been through several personnel changes before settling on the last line-up in early 2011. IKESTRA was Sam Bell (percussion), Sam Gardner (drums), Henry Guy (Bass), Joe Harris (guitar), Tom Henry (keys/synths), Craig Scott (guitar) and Anna Stott (vocals).
IKESTRA members also play/played for: The Haggis Horns, The New Mastersounds, Shatner's Bassoon, Katy B, Natalie Duncan, Paper Tiger, Tommy Evans Orchestra, East Park Reggae Collective, Debian Blak, The Root One Band, Bugalu Foundation and Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra to name but a few.
