Raj Chaudhuri - aka Raji Rags. NTS since day one. Always eclectic, never boring. Raj rustles up a seamless monthly mix that journeys through the BPMs.

A two hour overview of the distinctive blues and rock sounds from North Africa, a loose assimilation of artists and styles often dubbed "Sahara blues" or "Desert blues". The music is frequently associated with (but not exclusively) the nomadic Tuareg peoples who made the music famous around the world.

Oberman Knocks

Oberman Knocks

Oberman Knocks has been played on NTS shows including Awkward Movements, with Dilankex (Autechre Remix) first played on 4 March 2014.

Sheffield-born and now South London-based, electronic producer Nigel Truswell has previously released tracks as Alkin Engineering and W'G Machines on a slew of labels, including the esteemed Static Caravan imprint, Unlabel and October Man Recordings. Truswell lists influences ranging from funk, Motown and hip-hop to labels such as Warp, Skam or Ninja Tune. The Autechre connection hangs over Oberman Knocks even more as it is apparently after receiving encouragement from Sean Booth and Mira Calix’s Chantal Passamonte that Truswell began making music. He apparently restricts himself to a comparatively stripped-back studio set-up, using only a minidisc recorder, cheap mic and three pieces of software. His debut album as Oberman Knocks is the first release on Andrea Parker’s Aperture label, with much of the sonic palette being constructed around dark drones, contorted, digitally-processed industrial breakbeats and the occasional fragment of cut-up, unintelligibly yelled vocals.
