Kan Kick

Kan Kick

Kan Kick has been played on NTS over 30 times, featured on 33 episodes and was first played on 11 November 2012.

Kan Kick also known as Kanzulu or is an American hip hop producer currently signed to Grey Label Recordings. He started producing as a freshman in high school, where he hooked up with Madlib who was a sophomore at the time. Kankick later joined the Lootpack and became the 4th member. Since then, he has produced for many artists.

Kan Kick is an Oxnard, CA., native who got his start in the science of hip-hop beat making in 1988, as a freshman in high school when he hooked up with Madlib who was a sophomore at the time. Kan Kick later joined the Lootpack and became the 4th member along with Madlib, Wild Child, and DJ Romes. While a member of the Lootpack, Kan Kick and Madlib produced "Mary Jane" for the Alkaholiks' first album.

Kan Kick later split from the Lootpack and formed the Funk Farm, which also included DJ Babu (Dilated/Beat Junkies). One of Kan Kick's early productions was the b-side to Babu's "Comprehension" mixtape. In addition, Kan Kick has produced projects with Declaime, Wild Child and has a couple solo albums under his belt.

The Kan Kick sound is dusty, crunchy and blunted, and just the right tempo to get the proper head nod going. After working on tracks for so many years, Kan Kick is neck deep in material waiting to be unleashed on the world and weak beat makers better beware!

Today, he has 5 full albums:
