Formed into 97, around Cyril Secq and Yvan Ros, the group has been stabilized with the arrival of Vanina Andreani (into 98) and of Guillaume Pervieux for three years, with an attachment common and particular to the sound of its instruments (the choice the instrument is really important, just like the way in which it will sound), and of its music in a general way. astrïd depicts sound landscapes which borrow as much from the ambient musics of the Seventies, that with the impromptu or contemporary music. Astrïd is smelled near to artists like Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Mark Hollis or Arvo Pärt, but also of the groups like Jackie' O' Motherfucker, Town' Country, No Neck Blues Band or Clogs or Sylvain Chauveau with which they share the borrowing taste for a music of the short cuts where silence takes part, in a primarily instrumental and acoustic universe. It is what pushed the formation to be worked with the realisators, then on the B.O. of a trilogy of short films (NYC III, of Guillaume Paturel) which will continue with that of a full-length film in 2005, but also for dance, so much dimension and the party taken musical are cinematographic and visual. They played in several places, in particular in company of Rachel's.
