Mbaraka Mwinshehe has been played on NTS shows including Black Impulse, with Shida first played on 13 June 2015.

Mwinshehe was a great Tanzanian guitarist and vocalist who thrilled East African audiences from 1965 until he tragically perished in an auto accident in January 1979. He performed backed by the Morogoro Jazz Band early in his career and later with his own Orchestra Super Volcano. A popular series of posthumous compilations of recordings were widely released and distributed across Africa via Polygram under the title The Ukumbusho Volumes ,
