There are 3 bands named The Landlords: (and possibly more)
(1) An 80's hardcore punk band from Charlottesville, Virginia with a couple releases on vinyl: * Hey! It's a Teenage House Party! LP (1982) * Our Favorite Songs! 7" (1987) * Flowers on 45 (1992)
(2) A country/bluegrass/americana band from San Francisco, California
(3) A funk/reggae/jazz band from Melbourne, Australia
From The Landlords myspace:
We are The Landlords.
We're a five-piece funk/reggae/jazz band which focusses mainly on original material, but is also building a solid list of cover songs.
Since impressive and award-winning perfomances at Mortlake Buskers Festival and the Spectrum PushStart battles, The Landlords have attracted considerable attention among fellow bands, booking agents, media agents and especially the beautiful Victorian public.
Our first demo (produced and engineered by experienced musician/producer Jon Mol in March 06), features the songs "She A Woman" and "Let's Get Down", and you might just be able to pick it up free when you see us at the next show! HOPE YOU DIG THE LANDLORDS!
The Landlords timeline: January 2006: Formed March 21: Finished Let's Get Down and Woman to make Demo 1.1 April 1: Won Fully Amplified Group and Acoustic Group at Mortlake Buskers Festival. Placed in finals. April 10: Won Caritas charity Battle of the Bands at school with the song "Girl" June 16: Placed in Spectrum PushStart battle (Top 3 of 9) to play in finals. July 7: Won Spectrum PushStart battle Grand Final to progess to Regional Finals.
