Born Sameer Coombs, Chase Cross grew up in the tough community of Arnett Gardens. His affiliation with fellow singjay Mavado started in 2004 when his family moved to Cassava Piece. He has made appearances on shows overseas, sharing the stage with Mavado. Cross, who declares himself dancehall's newest 'rapjay', made his entrance on the dancehall music scene in 2009 with his single Better Days on the Clearance riddim.
