Hans Philip started his career by rapping over other artists' beats but instead wanted to find someone who could make original beats. Through mutual friends, he met Jens Ole McCoy in 2010, and together they created the halter project Skørmand. On 2 June 2011, they performed at the Copenhagen music festival Distortion. It was on this day that the musician duo began to believe that "maybe something cool could happen with the musical dream that had begun to sprout in them". They closed "Skørmand" down in 2012
"Heelervarer" (sides A and B), the group's first EP, was released in 2012, and according to Soundvenue reviewer Kristian Karl, the musical duo had moved away from "wild grime as Skørmand" to "subdued melancholy rap as Ukendt Kunstner".
The duo released the self-published debut album Neonlys on 8 March 2013. Soundvenue and GAFFA awarded the album five and three stars respectively, and commercially the album ended up achieving gold certification.[8] The album was "largely about Copenhagen and life in the big city, and for Hans Philip it's about being able to deliver stories from everyday life and the surroundings he himself lives in". It was with this album that Ukendt Kunstner had his breakthrough.
At P3 Gold in April 2014, they were nominated for "P3 talent" and "P3 listener hit" and ran away with the victory for "P3 Talent". In May 2014, the group's second album Forbandede Ungdom was released. At the same time, the album's lyrics had changed. It was thus pointed out that
In December 2016, it was announced that Ukendt Kunstner ended its collaboration after four years. They reasoned that "So, we're just burnt out". It was told in the Danmarks Radio series Vi var Ukendt Kunstner, which was broadcast on DR3 in three episodes. They played their last concert in August 2017 at For Evigt Hip Hop in Rødovre.
Solo artist (2019-) After not releasing music since Ukendt Kunstner's disbandment, Hans Philip released the single "Siger ingenting" on YouTube on March 10, 2019. Parts of the song had previously been published on Instagram by Kesi, Jens Ole McCoy and Hans Philip himself. According to GAFFA, Hans Philip used more singing than rapping, with which the song could be considered "alternative r&b".
On March 17, 2019, he released his first album as a solo artist. The album is called Forevigt and contains nine songs.
On September 30, 2022, Hans Philip released the double album [α] & [β]. The two albums [α] and [β] each contain nine tracks.
Unknown Artist (2023-) In May 2023, the band posted unannounced on their Facebook page, with a link to their new album, titled "Dansktop".
