Long time NTS veteran and Apron and Youth affiliate SHAMOS heads a monthly late night slot. Expect a varied, yet consistently cohesive selection, as he joins the dots between rugged analog house, tripped out hip-hop, the punkier dregs of new wave and other leftfield cuts along the way.

Suncycle

Suncycle

Suncycle has been played on NTS shows including Ross Allen, with Somebody first played on 20 June 2019.

Hailing from North West London, this UK Dancehall group have been establishing themselves for the last five years. The CEO Dolamite first set up Suncycle in 1999, it started initially as a family set up. But as Dolamite scouted for local talent, he managed to find the cream of the crop by incorporating north wests finest djs.

Suncycle propelled into the lime light by creating a street vibe and street following, and this managed to get them hooked up with various mainstream artists such as collabos from the great Texas teaming up with Charlene Spiterie herself, other acts include remixes with the Punjabi Hit Squad, Jamaican dancehall artist Spragga Benz, Smujjii, Asher D (So Solid) and many more. Suncycle have now started working on their 2nd mainstream album as a follow up to their last album which they released in 2004 I Am Somebody, named from their hit single produced by Jamaican producer Scatta. This album was later licensed to Toshiba EMI in Japan, and had an impressive sales result considering the group themselves have not been to Japan to promote the album. Production has started on this new and untitled as yet album with production by CEO himself Dolamite, JD aka The Dready (So Solid), Sly from SAS Productions, Sticky.

Suncycle consists of four key members. Dolamite (CEO, producer and artist), Baby Chann (vocalist and female dj), Vigilante and Infra- Redman. Suncycle have now dis- affirmed from their independent label and management company Jamdown and are so far going at it totally independent from any major labels. This isnt to say if the right deal did not come along it wouldnt be considered, but the group have realised that the UK market for any urban act is extremely hard to be successfully commercial in this country and seeing themselves as an international group they aim to spread their musical talents globally.
