Purple Brain has been played on NTS shows including Anton, with The Purple Brain Theme first played on 9 April 2014.

Purple Brain were a group of Dutch teenage improvisational musicians. The band was founded by Marco Braam and Remco Takken and existed from 1986 to 1990. The teen duo released their first demo 'Tricks & Tracks' in 1986, which sold about fifty copies. The band soon swelled to a seven-piece ensemble playing raucous garage-rock; however, the band never performed live with all seven members playing at once.
