Calvin James Howard, (October 4, 1978 – April 15, 2012), better known by his stage name, Viro the Virus, was an accomplished underground emcee from the Mt. Holly, New Jersey/Philadelphia area. His discography includes 5 solo albums and 2 collaboration efforts, one with Slim DSM titled 420 and one with Caliph-NOW, as Arz Nova, titled The Longest EP Ever. Viro the Virus released his debut album, Future Trauma, on June 1, 2002.

Viro's influences range from Jimi Hendrix to Del tha Funkee Homosapien. With his vicious word play and his appetite for Bud, Sex, and Beer (which is also the title to one of his albums), Viro the Virus became a well known underground hip-hop artist.

Viro the Virus passed away on April 15, 2012, in Tuscon, Arizona.
