1) The Minority are a five piece band based in Belfast and founded by college friends Tim Murphy and Alan Ladd in 2007. The band draws on influences from electronic, pop, indie and acoustic genres including from bands such as Radiohead, Elbow, Doves and REM.
They have gigged throughout Northern Ireland and in 2008 completed a UK tour stretching from Southampton to Dundee. Bands such as FRED, Driving by Night, Two Door Cinema Club, Tom White (Electric Soft Parade and Brakes), Joe Echo, and Cashier no 9 have shared the stage with The Minority. The song 'She' was included on the trash society unsigned compilation and played on ATL on Radio Ulster.
In 2009 the new line up included David Callan on drums, Kris Francis on keys, and Dave Bennington on guitar. In 2010 the band are gigging extensively with their new set and have recorded a selection of the new songs.
