Although both Masanori and Takumi are renowned for being active in the Japanese dance music scene for many years, they also work together to produce music for video works and that is where their Coastlines project was born. Their musical vision is focused on creating a laid back, for listening, modern library music-like musical sceneries that one can imagine a beautiful & breathtaking "coastline". On top of the down tempo, balearic, jazz fusion and other various musical vibes that Masanori creates, Takumi layers his beautiful, melodic keyboard solos to grand effect. Coastline’s music is all about presenting, a joyous, relaxing, summery soundtrack for everyone's after hours wind down.
Savannah, GA Hardcore. FFO: Shai Hulud, Poison The Well, Love Is Red, Hopesfall. First release was Life In Shifts EP in July 6, 2012. http://www.coastlinesga.bandcamp.com http://www.facebook.com/CoastlinesHC
Formed during band practices for the legendary Stereo Soul Movement, guitarist Alex P and drummer Matt Craven started out jamming on some simple epic guitar riffs that were eventually formed into full blown mostly-instrumental majestic anthems. Thus Coastlines was born.
In order to fill out their sound for recording and live performances, Alex and Matt incorporated other members of Your Yellow Dress and the Stereo Soul Movement including Maggie Daniec on keys, Timothy Rottenberg on bass, Ryan Poska on trumpet, and Jacob Satola on guitar. Their debut EP entitled "The Celibacy Pact" was recorded between August and December 2010 and was subsequently released on December 28, 2010. Immediately following this release, Coastlines embarked on a two and a half week tour across the western United States, playing in 15 different cities.
