Mississippi Records is an independent archival record label that has been releasing music by totally original (and as a result, often overlooked) artists for nearly 20 years. The label is dedicated to working directly with artists and their families, securing their legal rights, and creating equitable documents of their work to share with the world. Mississippi works across genres, regions, and timelines. The music we’re drawn to is often created outside of existing commercial industries. It’s the work of visionary artists with something urgent and original to say. And it’s sustained by, and in turn nourishes, communities that extend beyond the music. We recognize this brilliant music is not created in a vacuum, and we’re dedicated to understanding and uplifting the stories around the art.

Philip Langridge CBE (born 16 December 1939) is an English tenor considered to be among the foremost exponents of English opera and oratorio.

Langridge was born in Hawkhurst, Kent, and studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He started his career as an orchestral violinist, which exposed him to a greater variety of music than professional singers ordinarily experience.

Langridge is admired for his fine technique coupled with keen dramatic instincts. His repertoire is broad, ranging from the operas of Claudio Monteverdi and Mozart…
