Darja Kazimira is a Latvian avant-garde vocalist, improviser, composer, multi-instrumentalist, artist, and creator of the project of the same name. The main point of Darja Kazimira project creative search is the ritual (mainly burial, funeral traditions; cults of the ground, sacred violence), and the comprehension of its space and properties. A special place in the concept of the project is occupied by the study of the construction of sacred and hierophonic space, and their relationship with thanatology, criminology, anthropology, psychiatry, and ethnography. All acts of Darja Kazimira are improvisation, impulse, the random confluence of symbols, sounds, languages and etc. However, all this is framed by a rigid structure within the process; discipline, bodily practices, and author's methodology, where the artist's personality is erased, and the act of myth-making begins, fully integrated into life.
