This Month's Architect is Dan Penn, who (depending on who you speak to) is an unsung songwriter, guitarist, producer and recording artist. Dan was instrumental in shaping the American R&B & country songbooks. He started his career within the walls of Muscle Shoals’s FAME studios and moved onto Memphis’s American Sound Studio where he worked closely with the great Chips Moman. His influence can be heard over many decades & genres including England’s northern soul movement.
