Paolo Catena was born in 1962 in Pesaro, Italy. After playing in the occult-metal group Death SS, Paolo released a series of hard-to-find LPs and ltd singles as part of an intriguing discography under the name Paul Chain between 1987-2003 (until his artistic 'death'). The material ranges from ambient gloom to psychedelic doom, heavy metal and experimental electronics. Since Paul Chain's artistic 'death' in 2003, Paulo has continued to release experimental material under different aliases but has not returned to the occult-influenced sounds of the period covered in this mix, selected by LJ Horstman (Weird Weather).
