Luis Alvarado: The Loudest Indie From Peru
A new and young indie scene is emerging in Peru, characterized by its fascination with saturated guitar sounds and the exploration of musical genres like noise pop, shoegaze, and post-punk. We find them in Lima, but also in Arequipa, Ica, and Trujillo. They are already organizing themselves, filling concert venues, producing mini festivals, creating small record labels, flooding social media, curating playlists with photos illustrating their daily lives, and offering a fresh and bold sound.
