On this month's show Luis Alvarado presents a one hour special on the works of Pauchi Sasaki. Pauchi Sasaki is a Peruvian composer and violinist who has developed her career across a wide spectrum of sound creation, ranging from composition for ensembles and electroacoustic music, self-designed instruments, free improvisation, multimedia performances, and film music, earning her various international recognitions. Currently, Pauchi Sasaki is working on the multidisciplinary opera project Artemis, where she explores the complex interaction between the female body, metal, technology, power, and the conception of the future. We present here a selection of pieces by Pauchi Sasaki, drawn from her solo discography as well as from collaborative works.
