Sounds & Style: Jawara Mix

Jawara is an international hair stylist from Jamaica and New York. He joins Lynette on this week’s episode of the Sounds & Style podcast to discuss his formative years growing up in a family at the heart of the Reggae and Dancehall community.

“I just remember hearing loud dancehall music and reggae music in the salons with loads of women talking, dancing and just doing hair as a sense community. And this is the late 80s, early 90s, so he height of the dancehall era where there's so many different artists coming out of Jamaica with different styles. The hair was elaborate and the clothing were amazing”
