Electro Techno Synth Pop

This Blue Screen episode maps the musical universe of Slava Tsukerman's "Liquid Sky", the 80s film about an alien invading NY's downtown scene in search of post-coital opiates. It's a story about a post-punk Cinderella, replete with preposterous haircuts, neon drenched nightclub scenes, heroin-craving UFOs, and literally killer orgasms. Upon release, the film became an instant cult hit, setting the visual aesthetic for electroclash as well as inspiring everyone from Burial to Chloë Sevigny.
