Shells - GINKGO RECORDS

Ginkgo Records has been sporadically releasing sounds from the Michigan underground since 2010. Founded in Ann Arbor and currently based in Detroit, the label has mostly released small runs of cassettes, and in recent years has also been releasing LPs. In this hour special we listen back to selections from some of our favorite releases on the label in roughly chronological order. You will hear abstract meditations, fuzzed out pop, jams both deeply focused and deeply unfocused, haunting melodies, and punk blasts - sometimes all at once. We conclude with two tracks from our new releases: C.R. Odette’s “Millett Sway” cassette (out now) and Tyvek’s “Overground” LP (out November 10).
