Accompanying these anecdotes, meditations and sequiturs are a series of Cage’s musical compositions, performed alongside yet totally independent from the spoken word. The result is an intimately volatile gesamtkunstwerk, at once humble and ambitious, simple yet elusive, where the human voice, acoustic instruments and electronics occupy a singularly surreal and unpredictable landscape.
