feel free alone

i made this mix while reflecting on a time when my heart was broken and i was living alone in a foreign city. i felt like my heart was crumbling and cracking apart, and the sounds echoed through the streets as i walked. I suffered terrible anxiety and felt completely alienated and isolated from the chattering summer people around me. i found solace in my small rented room. on the dilapidated desk in the corner, someone had carved the words 'feel free alone' - i wasn't sure what exactly it meant, but i connected with it and it comforted me. it was a small beacon of hope in an otherwise dark and empty time. i tried to feel that freedom, that lightness, and re-build my world from there. this mix goes down to the dark and wallows there. but, as i did in that time, it slowly goes towards the light in the end. i hope it will bring comfort to someone who needs it, and remind them that they're not alone.
