With a name entertainingly antithetical to their sound and ethos, Boredoms took the "plug in and make some noise" rubric of rock music to its utterly baffling logical endpoint, and beyond. Coming to prominence in the late '80s as part of the loosely affiliated "Japanoise" scene of earsplitting hardcore punk acts, sound artists and electronic musicians, the Osaka band have since dipped their toes into disjointed drone, gauzy & cacophonous psychedelia, repetitive minimalist electronics, tribal drumming and other sounds yet to be named.
Wade into the ecstatic and baffling universe of Boredoms in this In Foucus, selected by NTS.
