A primer on the lo-fi offshoot of trap music which rose to prominence in the late '00s and early '10s, pioneered by outsider rappers such as Lil B, then popularised by longtime collaborator/producer Clams Casino alongside Harlem rap collective A$AP Mob, and the Scandinavian sad rap movement across the Atlantic.
