'A Tribute to Hauntology' w/ Lin-chi

Hauntology is a term that was first applied to musicians by cultural theorists Mark Fisher and Simon Reynolds following the emergence of artists like Burial, The Caretaker and other acts associated with the UK label Ghost Box.

Hauntological artists were said to explore ideas related to retrofuturism, cultural memory, nostalgia for unfulfilled futures, the stagnation of art, and an inability to move on from the past.

The sound is errie, dark, and dystopian representing a collective longing for an unmet, euphoric vision of the future. It is characterised by vinyl crackle, static, field recorded loops, and educational, library, and tv audio from the 1950's-70's as well as more modern references to UK rave and brutalist ideology.
