Detroit’s Juke Trax, and its mp3-only sublabel Juke Trax Online, are responsible for releasing some of the most essential Juke records ever made. The more frenetic, dirtier child of Chicago Ghetto House born on the city's Southside, Juke typically clocks in at 160 bpm with chopped vocals, pounding bass, and an inescapable call to move your body.
This mix contains my favorites of the Juke Trax catalog, with tracks from 2004-2011, highlighting the truly breakneck speed of this genre’s evolution.
