We’ve thrown a lot of parties and showcased many new acts across the globe this year. There were NTS festival collaborations at Trip Metal in Detroit, SXSW in Austin, London’s Lovebox, Unsound in Toronto and MUTEK in Montreal. We continued the scuzzy psych/rock/metal/madness series Tunnel Vision, out in a warehouse in Hackney Wick, where we were graced with acts such as Gnod and Silver Apples. We celebrated turning the grand old age of five with five nights across London, showcasing a selection of the genres and music scenes that we’re so passionate about.

As for the year in hip-hop, we’ve bought a host of acts like Playboi Carti, Neverland Clan, Goth Money, ASAP Nast, ABRA and Princess Nokia - to our hometown for sweaty, intense live shows. We continued to work with institutions such as the ICA to host artists such as Micachu and Amnesia Scanner, and embarked on a partnership with Uniqlo and the Tate Modern to program the music and visuals in the Tanks - a series we’re excited to continue throughout 2017.

With The Brass & Crimson series across the UK, we showcased live jazz acts like Azymuth, Binker & Moses and Jamie Woon, as well as some intimate parties in Amsterdam, Berlin, Madrid and Antwerp with Johnnie Walker.

Our programming runs the gamut from film screenings of iconic music documentaries, intimate events such as Joy Orbison in a tiny boutique in East London, to the NTS x Carhartt mobile studio which travelled across Europe. It’s been non-stop and tons of fun. Here are just a few of our highlights.

2016 marked the launch of our involvement in the Uniqlo Tate Lates series, held at the Tate Modern on the last Friday of each month. NTS has been filling out the Tanks ever since combining music with visual accompaniment, projected onto the walls. Micachu and Coby Sey blessed our first night at the Tate with a really special four-hour back to back set.

Definitely one of the best things we put on all year - bringing Destiny Frasqueri a.k.a Princess Nokia to Corsica Studios brought such a positive energy. A few dozen from the crowd including Sisters Uncut joined her on stage for the finale, and we streamed the whole affair live on our Facebook page for those that couldn’t make it down before immediately signing her up for consequent shows in Bristol and Los Angeles.

Tunnel Vision has been flying the flag for the bugged-out, strange, and psychedelic, so it was fitting that we saw out its final episode with Silver Apples. The kind Loose Bones hosts could barely hide their awe during the interview and followed up with a cerebral and undeniably mind-expanding, synth-heavy set.

London hip-hop collective Neverland Clan low-key stole the show when we brought Playboi Carti, Lafawndah, Mack and more to Efes for our fifth birthday. We moshed and our sweat dripped down the walls.

OnBlackheath festival took us South of the river for a night of music from the bleach-hair prince of psychedelia, Connan Mockasin alongside the genre-transcending bassist Thundercat.
