Shoko Asahara

Shoko Asahara has been played on NTS shows including SKYAPNEA, with Lord Death's Counting Song first played on 13 June 2022.

Shoko Asahara 麻原彰晃 formerly Chizuo Matsumoto (松本 智津夫), was the former head of the Japanese doomsday cult Aum Shinrikyo. They first made an international name for themselves with broadcasts on Russian radio and then became somewhat more notorious for the Tokyo Sarin Gas attacks in 1995. Asahara was been convicted of murder and several other charges and was placed on death row in 2004. His execution along with many other former members of the cult was carried out in 2018.

As part of their community outreach attempts in the late 80s and 90s Aum Shinrikyo and Asahara released some tracks, "Guru's March" being the only notable single.
