Performing live very rarely - even then only acoustically - Love Spirals Downwards hybrid dreamscapes are a revelation of studio experimentation. Multi-instrumentalist and producer Ryan Lum and then girlfriend Suzanne Perry released a series of projects in the 1990s, melding dream pop, East Indian music, psychedelic rock, and ethereal ambient sounds, and fused processed and acoustic recording methods, creating a sound that feels relevant decades later. Amina

Amina

Amina has been played over 10 times on NTS, first on 27 March 2018. Amina's music has been featured on 15 episodes.

(For information on the Icelandic quartet formerly called Amína, please see Amiina.) (Currently Spotify is listing Amiina under Amina!)

Amina can refer to either of four artists:

1) Amina is the alias of Diego Masarotti, an ambient artist from Córdoba, Argentina, that previously went under the name of Dyb.

2) The Tunisian singer Amina Annabi, known for her East-meets-West world music and for her appearance in the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest.

3) The Spanish flamenco singer Amina (born María Gracia Ortiz Vázquez), active in the 1960s and 1970s.

Amina Annabi was born in Tunisia, but moved to France in 1975 when she was 12. Her musical career began in the 1980s as a rapper, and recorded singles with early hip-hop superstars Afrika Bambaata and Grandmaster Flash.

She recorded her debut album, Yalil, in 1990. The album featured the sexy single "Belly Dance," which had some commercial success. In 1991, she was declared the joint winner of the Eurovision Song Contest for the song "Le Dernier Qui A Parle," though she was eventually declared the runner-up. Still, this exposure propelled her to stardom in the burgeoning world music fusion market.

Her second album, Wa Di Ye (Love is Unique), was released in 1992. It was not until 1999 that her third album Annabi hit the shelves. Amina has an acting career along with her singing career, and has appeared in a number of movies.

4) Amina is an Egyptian singer & actress.
