Elaha Soroor
London, 16.12.24
Afghan singer and composer Elaha Soroor presents "songs by women of Afghanistan from the late 70s to today. Afghanistan’s unique geography has shaped its music, making it a blend of traditional sounds that are shared by neighboring regions. You can also hear hints of Western pop and jazz in the work of contemporary musicians , especially those in the diaspora. Now, with music and women's voices banned under Taliban rule, Afghanistan’s female musicians are more active than ever, creating and sharing their art mostly from outside the country."
