Post Punk Britain: Primitive Painters - Jangle Pop & Indie Rock from the UK Post Punk Era

Featuring melodic post punk bands from the "C86" wave - named after the famous NME Magazine compilation of the same name. The title of the compilation became shorthand for the sound, which would become the blueprint for contemporary "indie" as a genre: guitar-based music characterised by jangly tones and power pop song structures, taking healthy inspiration from sunny 1960s pop music.
